1.1 It is not necessary to register with us in order to use some parts of this website. However, particular areas of this website will only be accessible to registered members of AmericanActorsUK.

1.2 This website may be used for your own private purposes and in accordance with these terms of use.
1.3 You may print and download material from this website provided that you do not modify or reproduce any content without our prior written consent.

1.4 All reasonable measures are taken by us to ensure that this website is operational at all times. However, occasionally technical issues may result in some downtime and accordingly we will not be liable if this website is unavailable at any time.

2.1 Your personal contact details
By joining American Actors UK you consent to your personal details to be held on our database. We will need to contact you from time to time with information relating to your American Actors UKmembership and publications. Your professional contact details will be available to third parties. Your personal contact details would only be made available to third parties with your permission.
As a member, you can update your contact preferences at any time by logging onto this website. Alternatively you can email admin@americanactorsuk.com or call the American Actors UK administrator (see the Contact Us page for details).

2.2 Your email address
AmericanActorsUK uses email as its main method of communicating with its members. Information emailed to you may contain confidential information about you, up coming events and pertinent news. It is your responsibility to keep your email address up to date with AmericanActorsUK, secure, and ensure that the relevant usernames / passwords are not known by anyone else. AmericanActorsUK cannot take responsibility for the successful delivery of email to your chosen email provider. Please ensure that you set up your spam filter / junk mail folder correctly to ensure that emails from AmericanActorsUK can be received.
2.3 Professional contact details
American Actors UK does not publish personal contact details on our website by default. These may be published if specifically requested . You may specify your Spotlight View Pin as part of your application and you may therefore receive information regarding casting opportunities via Spotlight.
2.4 Professional casting information
American Actors UK reserves the right to edit the information you supply, if it is more than sufficient for suitable display, or to amend or refuse or substitute any information tendered if American Actors UK reasonably considers it unsuitable or inconsistent with the general standard, appearance or policy of American Actors UK.
2.5 Our publications
Whilst every care is taken in the compilation of our search facilities and publications, we cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions in the presentation of any material supplied. Whilst American Actors UK makes every endeavor to publish punctually on the dates announced, we are not to be liable for any delay in publication arising from any cause beyond our control.
2.6 Membership Criteria
American Actors UK has strict vetting criteria for membership to ensure members are North America and have valid visas to work in the UK. We also ensure membership is only open to professionally trained or experienced performers. Your membership may be refused based on the criteria set in each case, in which case you will be notified and a full refund will be supplied.
2.7 Photograph Copyright
It is the responsibility of each American Actors UK member to ensure that they have full copyright clearance for all photographs featured as part of their American Actors UK profile.
You must provide us with the name of the photographer for all photographs submitted to American Actors UK. Photographers must be credited, according to copyright law. We reserve the right to refuse any photograph which we consider unsuitable or inappropriate.
2.8 Membership Payments
Your membership is charged by way of an annual subscription fee. New members (those who have not been in American Actors UK before) joining American Actors UK may cancel their membership at any time within 30 days of submitting their application and agreeing to these terms and conditions, without incurring any fee or penalty. No refund is available on an annual membership after this period.
Your membership starts on submission of your application and is valid for 1 year. Your membership must be renewed yearly by Paypal or a BACS transfer in Pounds Sterling only. Paypal transactions will be charged in Sterling as indicated at the checkout phase. If your Paypal account is not Sterling denominated then the amount will be converted by your bank into the currency of your bank account, when processed. We are not responsible for any additional fees your own bank may charge.
2.9 Membership cancellation
American Actors UK reserves the right to refuse or cancel membership for any member without explanation. In the event that membership is cancelled or refused a full refund will be given. Should you decide to terminate your membership then your details continue to be available in this site until the annual expiration of your membership. If you contact us and ask to cancel with immediate effect we will then remove your details immediately. You would not be eligible for a refund in these circumstances.
2.10 Membership cancellation and personal details
When a member cancels their American Actors UK membership we will retain their contact details in our internal database for reference purposes, for the following reasons:
For urgent personal enquiries (former agents trying to contact you in which case we will attempt to contact you to pass on a message).
Some professional details are also retained so that when you next re-join American Actors UK your details can be activated as quickly as possible.
To ascertain the previous membership status of those applying for future American Actors UK membership.
Terms & Conditions for play submission and selection
3.1 All plays must be submitted in electronic PDF format. This can be done after registration. No paper or email submissions will be accepted.
3.2 Each play must be registered separately, and will incur a UK £15 entry fee.
3.3 The entry fee must be paid via PayPal during the registration process. We regret that cheques and bank drafts cannot be accepted.
3.4 A submitted play will not be registered into the competition until a PDF of the play and the registration fee have both been received.
3.5 Every registered play will be read by two industry professionals in the first stage of the reading process. From this a shortlist will be compiled and each of those plays will be read again by all members of our Final Selection Panel who will determine the final selection for the Festival. The chosen plays will be become part of a fully produced one week run in a London West End theatre, performed by professional actors (where possible, members of American Actors UK) and directed by professional UK directors. The entire selection process may take up to six to eight weeks following the submission deadline. All playwrights will be notified by email of the outcome of their submission. The final results will be pubished on the American Actors UK website.
3.6 A policy of anonymity will be maintained throughout the reading process to ensure that all plays are judged on the merit of the work. Any playwright who is considered to have circumvented, or tried to circumvent, the anonymous process may have their entry(s) disqualified.
3.7 Those playwrights whose scripts are chosen for performance will be notified. There will be the opportunity for playwrights of selected plays to liaise with the director who will be directing the production.
3.8 The selection of plays by the selection panel will be final. The panel will not enter into correspondence.
3.9 Entries which have not been registered on this site or that arrive past the deadline will not be accepted.
3.10 Copyright of plays submitted remain with the copyright holder.
3.11 The list of selected plays, the name of the Author, and further information about the festival will be made generally available on the festival website, www.americanactorsuk.com/New American Voices.
3.12 The scripts of the selected plays will only be made available to the Directors and to members of American Actors UK to allow them to audition for and perform the work. Any script submitted to the festival will not be made available to the general public. All scripts will be removed from the website at the conclusion of the festival. The Author's details, Play's synopsis and character breakdown will be retained for management purposes but will not be disclosed to the general public without the Author's express consent.
3.13 Subject to playwrights' written consent, excerpts from the plays, chosen for performance, may be posted on the festival website along with contact details for the playwrights. This opportunity may be extended to include other plays that have been shortlisted.
Law And Jurisdiction
These terms of use are governed by English law. Any dispute arising in connection with these terms of use shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
