We welcome all American and Canadian actors in the UK to apply for membership and join us.
American Actors UK is the UK’s network of North American actors. Casting and artistic directors can confidently turn to our directory for professional actors with authentic accents.

To build that confidence, we ensure our members meet the following criteria:

  • Originally and currently an American or Canadian citizen.
  • Legally able to work in the UK without restriction, as well as in the United States and/or Canada.
  • Proof of professional acting contracts or graduate from a NCDT/Drama UK accredited drama school in the UK.
  • Membership (or eligible for membership) of at least one entertainment union.
  • Be a member of Spotlight.

Our membership year begins on September 1st and runs to August 31st each year. Annual subscriptions for existing members are £45 per year. New members pay a £10 joining fee plus a pro-rated amount (£3.75 per month) bringing them in line with the annual membership year.
Example: Jane Smith joins American Actors UK in mid July. Her new member’s subscription fee would be the £10 joining fee plus the pro-rated amount of £3.75 for each month from July 1st to Jan 31st,  7 months. So the total comes to £36.25 (£10+£26.25).

  • Inclusion on the American Actors UK website which is used by industry professionals to source authentic North American actors.
  • Regular emails to individual casting directors with members’ photos and details of what you have been doing.
  • Your Spotlight listing identifies you as a genuine North American with the legal right to work in the UK. Casting Directors searching Spotlight for real North Americans will find you first.
  • We are working hard to increase our social media profiles including Facebook, Twitter and more.
  • We have just created a new members only Facebook page where we will post casting notices and that you can use to communicate with fellow members about issues facing American Actors in the UK. (https://www.facebook.com/groups/americanactorsukprivate/)
  • Our members’ newsletter, giving all the latest news about our events, workshops, discounts, etc.Discounts and deals provided to our members by photographers, showreel makers, etc.
  • Social events with special guest speakers.
